TRANSPRING A10 Cartridge & MIX2 Battery Review

We recently recieved some TRANSPRING A10 Cartridges and a couple MIX2 touch sensitive batteries. As usual the product is sent to the Zoo lounge for unpacking, inspection and use. These were a popular item around here since oils of both THC and CBD are staple and welcome in the Zoo lounge when the oppertunity arrises. The packaging is clean and the products showed up in great condition without a ton of excess packaging we often see. It was a refreshing find. Lets start with the basics. The look of the batteries are sleek and smooth in the hand and well balanced with either the .5ML or 1.0ML cartridge mounted. The smooth battery is nice to hold and use. The set came with a nice screw on type USB charger for the batteries that performs nicely and recovers the batteries well. Let’s start with the battery and discuss what its features are. The touch sensitive end lights up with each touch. Five touches and it’s powered on, three touches set voltage applied to the cart, four touches start a pre heat, with one touch stopping the pre heating, and five again will power it off. Once activated a simple draw and it starts heating at the last set temp. The illuminated touch end also indicated the voltage with color as cyan is 2.4V or low, blue 3.2V or Med and violet indicates 4.0V or high. The battery has a really nice charge and life to them and will hold up to a social use setting nicely. They charge quickly enough and have seen zero issues. The crew loves the touch sensitive ends an have pretty much absconded with them, so they are a winner. The 510 thread makes them handy and versatile as well. Now the heart of any cartridge/battery setup is going to be the cartridges performance. The TRANSPRING A10 cartridges come in .5ML or 1.0ML size tanks with really nice white, black or chrome mouthpieces that are smooth and easily cleaned post sessions. The carts are easy to remove the mouthpiece and fill with any oil syringe or cart filler if you have one of those. As with most carts let it sit standing to let the oils flow and allow it to settle before use. We filled 2 carts both .5ML with oil. One with THC and the other with CBD and put them to the social use test with the group. Long hard heavy pulls, light pulls, none stop use. Performance was superb and flavors stayed spot on from full to empty. After a couple weeks use and multiple fills, and drains with many battery charges and discharges there have been zero issues observed. Flavors stay true throughout use. There is a science behind their products and heavy metals testing is a key part of manufacturing. The company has put enough thought into the product to incorporate anti-counterfeiting technology into them, as well as multiple mouthpiece connection types to satisfy multi platforms and uses such as threaded, buckle, self-lock and child-proof. See the www.transpring.com website for details on this and more. After several weeks in and out of the Zoo Lounge we have no choice to give this one 5 out of 5 Zoo points. From design, to ease of use, to performance the products have real world use and abuse and have held their own even in the Zoo. Hands down a winner. The atomizers performance is superb and never screwed up the oil flavors or aromas. Thank you TRANSPRING for the opportunity to test the products, as they have become a favorite for oils.

Zoo-Den Handy Pucker Review

We were recently given the opportunity to use and review the Handy Pucker a tool designed to “puck” up Kief. We passed them out to the crew and let things unfold. What we found was a really easy way to fill a cone or pre roll papers. We use large amounts of Kief and the we just couldn't form pucks big enough for our application, but the tool was extremely handy to fill a cone and the crew loved the ability to pack it with flower and a little chief and one kinda packed it would slide into a cone and with little more effort the cone was filled and packed adequately so it would burn without the typical “runner”.  The crew all agreed that for a smaller amount of chief or for a smaller application the tool is perfect. and preforms well. We made several smaller pucks to use in a rosin press, but fought with the quantity, but for a smaller application again it will work perfect. The folks using smaller press methods will love it, or to make a puck for a bowl. We did make a few “time-bombs” in a joint. simply make a 1/4” by 1/4” puck and add somewhere in the middle of the cone, at some point the flavors will explode as the chief puck is now being burned. We love the opportunity to evaluate the tool and play with it in several applications and real world use, as the crew can be a bit rough with equipment. We saw zero failures or quality issues. We want one about 1.5” (38MM) in diameter. We discovered The  “Handy Pucker” had multiple uses around the Zoo-Den by the time we were satisfied about performance and usability. Overall we were pleased with the product an look forward the future for the Handy Pucker.

Social use, or sociable use?

Seems like the hottest topic in the cannabis realm around Denver these days is “Social use”, and has a lot of folks waiting to see what happens next. The premiss being that if we have legal cannabis and recreational use it makes sense that there should be a place to legally consume your flower or products. As there are rental properties, community living and situations where visitors have no place to consume. Rental cars are a bad idea for the obvious reasons and parking lots etc. can result in a negative encounter with local authorities. The Initiative 300 will allow businesses to set up an area to allow cannabis consumption after a permit application and city approval latter in the 2017 year. We hope. According to the Denver Post roughly 170,000 Denver voters said Yes. By the same token 150,000 also voted no! There are still a lot of questions around regulation and enforcement. Time will tell the tale now. But while we are on the subject of social use, let’s discuss just that. In the Denver area it has become fairly common to see or smell cannabis being smoked while out in public. I for one do not want a child being exposed to this and most responsible users strongly agree. And in most states and jurisdictions the law requires it. But it is 2017 and Denver has spoken and does not allow for irresponsible use. That being said, we look to the social use establishments in the future. While advocating for cannabis, it is necessary to know that Colorado is still arresting people for marijuana violations, as this is not the wild wild west of weed. The lady in the car next to you still has the right to protect her kids as she sees necessary from marijuana. Whether you are pro-use or anti-use is a personal choice. We live in a society that is free to choose but not free to invoke our beliefs on someone whom has strong convictions against its use. The whole “social use” term needs revamping to me. I guess it is like calling cannabis “weed” or “pot” is an old school term and has led to some of the stigmatism's that now go with the use. As all cannabis users know and agree that cannabis use alone does not make one lazy, stupid or otherwise socially unacceptable and a taboo thing. As we as a society embark down this road of legal cannabis in varying degrees and forms, it must be understood that alcohol was once viewed with the same attitude and we all know how that one turned out. And so the journey into the Emerald Zoo forest of cannabis ensues. Let us all be aware that our beliefs are just that. Please use responsibly and respectfully. In the next article we will talk about just where it is legal to consume in Colorado.
